Katy Rose
As an author and Fine Artist trained in psychology and art, Katy Rose seeks to bring depth and meaning to each project. Her hope is to reflect the beauty of light piercing the darkness, joy despite hardship, as this has been a powerful theme in her own journey.
A lifelong love of history and travel, combined with a fascination in people and their stories, fuels her ambition to create books that touch both the minds and hearts of children.
Katy has lived on remote islands, in far-off cities, and currently, on a cul-de-sac with her wonderful husband and four fantastic children.
She brings her children’s book Lilibet the Brave: The Unusual Childhood of an Unlikely Queen to End Game Press this Fall.
Little Lilibet is shocked when she learns she’ll one day be Queen. It isn’t the plan!
On top of that, war breaks out and Lilibet’s life swirls with uncertainty. Stuck behind the fortress walls of Windsor Castle, she’s determined to be brave, she just has to figure out how. As months pass, she works to help the war effort in all the little ways she can. And it’s a little like magic - the more she helps, the braver she gets.
The determined princess grows into the persevering, tenacious Queen, marked by a brave commitment to serve others.
This picture book, the first of its kind, brings the historical events of both World War II and the Queen’s childhood to life in an engaging, heartfelt way that will both educate and inspire.
